Solar Halo

Have you seen the bright Halo around the Sun? A recent afternoon in Trier, Germany, fancy arcs and halos were so bright that they noticed even ordinary passers-by. Weird heavenly view shown in this photo. There are 22-degree Halo, full pargeličeskij Krug (the circle of false Suns), arc around the horizon and even lower lateral tangent arc. The computer was calculated model, which well describes this rare phenomenon. Usually much more strong direct light from the Sun open cloud. Such phenomena occur when sunlight is refracted falling and fluctuating hexagonal ice crystals. Such crystals are the cause of the false Suns and Lunar Halo.
Looks like it is seen through the large lens. Actually, the image shows the effect of millions of lenses: ice crystals. As the water freezes in the upper atmosphere can form small, flat, hexagonal ice crystals of ice. The plane of these crystals that swirling, gradually descend to the ground most of the time are oriented parallel to the surface. At sunrise or sunset, the beam of an observer can pass through the plane, and each Crystal can be like a miniature lens, refracting the sunlight. Joint effect can lead to a phenomenon called parghelia, or false. This image was obtained in 2000, in the morning, during winter solstice near Ames, Iowa, United States. In the center of the picture shows the Sun and two well notable false Suns on the edges. Behind the houses and trees visible halos, measuring about 22 degrees, three solar columns and Arch created by sunlight reflected by atmospheric ice crystals.

Weird clouds

This unusual phenomenon photographed December 11, 2003, a resident of Alabama Joel Knèjn. Scientists believe that everything around crystallized in ice, formed due to the emission of proletevšego aircraft (photo Joel Knain from NASA).
Picture of near-polar sky, obtained with a great Exposition on the stationary camera. Bright arc near the center of rotation-the North Star
